Sunflowers always signal late summer to me and the fast track to autumn. Erwin Orchards and Cider Mill grows a small patch of sunflowers, asters and zinnias as part of the orchard display, and they just wait to be photographed. The flowers' merry heads dance in the breeze or follow the sun. They also attract bees of all sorts. I took these photos using a 35mm lens at f/1.8, 1/3200 and 1/1600 respectively. I'm learning to compose in-camera to avoid extensive post-production editing, though both images have been cropped slightly.
